Rachel & Rob
Rachel and Rob’s winter wedding at All Saints Church in Brenchley was an intimate celebration filled with warmth, emotion and beautiful seasonal atmosphere. Surrounded by their closest family and friends, they chose this historic Kent village church for a ceremony that felt personal, traditional and wonderfully relaxed. From Rachel’s arrival beneath the avenue of ancient yew trees to the moving piano and cello music that accompanied her down the aisle, their day was full of meaningful details. It was a lovely celebration to photograph, with genuine moments unfolding naturally from beginning to end.
A Real-Life Love Story
Winter Magic in Kent: Rob & Rachel’s Intimate Wedding

The crisp, frosty air of a Kentish winter set a magical stage for Rob and Rachel’s intimate wedding at All Saints Church in Brenchley. Sheltered by the village’s famous avenue of historic yew trees, the ancient sandstone church welcomed a close-knit circle of family and friends into its warm, light-filled nave. The true magic unfolded as the heavy wooden doors opened, and Rachel stepped onto the aisle to the stirring, cinematic piano and cello swells of "A Thousand Years" by The Piano Guys. The sweeping, romantic melody echoed beautifully through the 13th-century arches, creating a breathtaking contrast between the timeless, historic architecture and their modern love story. Soft candlelight caught the vibrant hues of the stained-glass windows as Rob and Rachel exchanged their vows, capturing a beautifully quiet, emotional milestone that felt perfectly insulated from the winter cold outside.
Hidden behind an avenue of ancient yews in the Wealden village of Brenchley, All Saints’ Church is a Grade I-listed treasure whose sandstone walls have witnessed vows since the 13th century. Light streams through tall stained-glass lancets onto carved beams,
while the surrounding orchards and hop gardens offer postcard-worthy portrait spots just a few steps from the lychgate. A thriving evangelical community keeps the building alive with warm hospitality and spirit-filled worship, making it an ideal setting for couples who want their ceremony to feel both timeless and welcoming.

My approach at Merchant Taylors’ Hall

Documentary eye, minimal intrusion
I capture the emotion and atmosphere of your ceremony naturally - the quiet anticipation before the vows, the exchange of rings, the reactions of family and friends, and the joy as you walk back down the aisle together. I work discreetly around the church, allowing the ceremony to unfold without interruption.

Local liaison
I coordinate with the Vicar for the order of service, church rules, where I stand, if flash is allowed etc, those finer details are left with me. I then plan the photography timeline around the ceremony.

Swift turnaround
Highlights in 24 – 48 hrs; complete gallery in 2 – 3 weeks. I know how much you'll be looking forward to reliving your wedding day, which is why I prioritise a smooth and timely turnaround.
Top tips for Brenchley couples
1 / Ring the full peal
eight bells give a joyous soundtrack and look epic in exit photos
2 / Bubble or petal confetti only
kind to wildlife and pops against sandstone
3 / Reserve the church hall lawn
for drinks; it keeps guests happy while we slip away for couple shots
