Anna and Michael envisioned a day steeped in Anglican tradition yet filled with relaxed, modern joy. Coverage began in the medieval Prior’s House, where vaulted ceilings formed a calm backdrop for bridal prep details. As the cathedral bell tolled noon, the couple processed the length of the nave to the swell of the 60-stop Harrison & Harrison organ. I worked unobtrusively with a silent mirrorless system, blending 135 mm close-ups of exchanged vows with wide frames that captured the vast Gothic ribs soaring overhead.
Following the register signing beneath the Octagon vault, guests formed a confetti guard of honour on the west steps. We then meandered to Cherry Hill Park for quiet portraits framed by willow trees and Ely’s riverside boathouses, returning in time for a champagne reception in the Lady Chapel. A 50-image teaser landed in the newlyweds’ inbox that evening; the full 600-image gallery—carefully colour-balanced to preserve the cathedral’s honeyed stone—arrived within three weeks.
