Old Marylebone Town Hall Wedding Photography

Elegant, iconic & uniquely yours

Kate & Will

Intimate London elopements don’t get more iconic than Old Marylebone Town Hall. For Kate and Will, its sweeping stone steps and wood-panelled chambers became the backdrop to a day that felt equal parts relaxed house-party and royal-court romance. From their first quiet moments on the famous front steps to a champagne-filled ride through the West End aboard a classic red bus, every frame celebrates the effortless elegance that only this historic registry can offer. Dive into their story below to see how thoughtful planning, unobtrusive photography and a dash of city magic turned a simple ceremony into an unforgettable urban love fest.

A Real-Life Love Story

When Kate and Will chose the Westminster Room for their intimate marriage ceremony, they wanted the day to feel relaxed, personal, and surrounded only by their closest family and friends.

The story began on the famous steps of the Town Hall, where I used a long lens to quietly capture their arrival, preserving that fleeting, private moment before the celebrations officially kicked off. Inside, the soft London window light flooded the wood-panelled chamber, creating the perfect natural glow and rich colours without the need for disruptive flash.

After a joyful confetti exit, I shot some documentary-style couple portraits, capturing the genuine laughter between the two of them and their closest family in group shots on the stairs. We then returned to the Town Hall’s elegant corridors for a quiet moment alone.

The real magic happened next: instead of a traditional venue transfer, a classic red London bus arrived to pick up Kate, Will, and all of their guests. As soon as everyone climbed aboard, we popped open bottles of champagne, filling the bus with bubbles and cheers. Photographing the guests laughing, chatting, and drinking champagne as the bus rolled through the London streets allowed me to capture the pure, unscripted energy of their celebration.

Venue Spotlight – timeless London grandeur

Few places say “city romance” quite like Old Marylebone Town Hall. Its sweeping Portland-stone steps, soaring columns and panelled ceremony suites have hosted everyone from rock-stars to royalty.

Nestled on Marylebone Road in the heart of London, the building blends Victorian splendour with modern convenience - Paddington, Regent’s Park and the West End are minutes away, giving couples endless portrait backdrops once the confetti settles.

Top Tips for Couples

1 / Book an early slot

11 a.m. ceremonies enjoy softer façade light and quieter pavements.

2 / Confetti prep

biodegradable petals photograph beautifully against the pale stone; large cones help the colour pop.

3 / Plan a short stroll

Chiltern Street’s red-brick terraces or Regent’s Park’s Orangery Gardens give you varied backgrounds without eating into celebration time.
